3,000 people died in the 9/11 attacks at the World Trade Center in Washington, D.C. The terrorist attack created destruction so massive that it took 9 months to clear the debris and the wreckage. 

The al-Qaeda hijacked four planes. Two planes were flown into the Twin Towers of WTC, the third crashed into the Pentagon and the fourth into a field in Shanksville.

18 minutes after the first plane hit the first tower, the second plane crashed into the second tower, giving us the most shocking terrorist attack in the US.

A Kenyan tribe sympathized and offered their help to the US by donating 14 of their cows. For the tribe, the cows were regarded highly and considered a symbol of sympathy.

Warnings Before the Attack

More than 2 years before the attack, CIA’s Counterterrorist Center had prepared and submitted a report to President Bill Clinton. The report declared that Al-Qaeda was planning to attack the US that might involve hijacking an aircraft.

2 days before the 9/11 attack, a guerilla commander from Afghanistan was assassinated. He was Ahmed Shah Massoud, who had warned the US of a massive terror attack imminent in the country.

According to Snopes, James Woods noticed and reported the suspicious behavior of 4 individuals in August 2001. They were frequent fliers with the airlines and authorities rejected the claim that they could be a threat.

Three years before the attack, Gaddafi had declared Bin Laden as a wanted man.

As per a study, Alcohol consumption in Manhattan increased by 25 percent, tobacco by 10 percent and marijuana by 3.2 percent. That’s not it, the attendance of the church also increased by 20 percent.

The habits of people also changed. The number of people who watched Food Network on television also increased. This was when reality cooking shows like Iron Chef USA rose to popularity.
